Darlene started in Dobermans with the purchase of a pet
male in 1968. She began actively showing in the
conformation ring in the late ‘70’s. She has bred very
limitedly under the name of “Darwin”.
Over the years she has produced 8 Champions in 6 litters
which include multiple breed and group winning dogs.
Her most recent success being CAM CH Darwin’s Dance Of
The Hour, WAC (Dandy), whose litter was co-bred with
Marilyn Altheide.
Dandy is a multiple Group One and National Award of
Merit winning dog. He was the Grand Prize Futurity
winner at the 1996 National and was in the Top 20
Contention for two years. Dandy has been retired from
active campaigning and now enjoys sitting at home and
just relaxing.
Darlene was employed by Pacific Bell for 22 years and
she retired with the title of Engineering Manager. She
then worked as a professional handler for 10 years until
she retired from that to enjoy judging and “watching”
dogs ringside.
She is currently working at San Jose State University
for the Dean of University Libraries, who is overseeing
a major project of opening a new library jointly shared
with the City of San Jose. |
